Praise the Food!

That's my motto for the rest of the week.   I was sitting eating a very yummy mid day meal.  I ordered a plain baked potato (no salt, sugar butter) and a small Wendy's Chili with extra added onions.  I put all the onions and some of the chili on the potato (remember, this is a Wendy's one-it's a real sized potato not a football one) and proceeded to enjoy.  Halfway through I decided that perhaps a white potato wasn't the best choice....I should have gone heavier on the beans and lighter on the potato and all of the sudden I just shouted "ENOUGH" Not able to attack the fat content of my meal I was whuppin up on a poor defenselsess potato.  A baked potato, not fried.  No cheese, no butter, no sour cream......just a little old spud sitting in a plastic tray. Now I don't for a minute think that is the thing you should eat every day, but for an on the run, I really need to stop and eat kinda thing, not bad. So,for the rest of the week, I'm going to find something good to say about my food and my food choices. (No, I'm not going to post it).  But that little old potato had vitamin C, fiber and tasty mighty good.  It didn't need a critical analysis.

Sometimes you just need a Spud! I love food, but have have had to learn how to have a normal relationship with it - rather than me being a food addict. Love me some spuds! Tonja

Trying to figure out what is normal is the trick, isn't it? I think it harkens back to trying to find the "perfect food"-the ONE thing that if we would eat it we would magically become thin.  I'm hoping that I can find that happy balance to just good enough. Another part is how we've been taught that certain foods are bad and really some ARE not good for us. BTW-I was eating in a park in my truck when I shouted "enough"....not in th middle of Wendy's.
