Question about healing time...
I was just wondering how long it took each of you before you could go back to work. I've known people who range from 1-5 weeks. My little sister walked 1 full mile the very first time she stood to walk in the hospital aftersurgery. I definately have to beat that! haha Anyway, I have a desk job, I can get up and walk around if I need to, but no strain whatsoever. I am in sales at Dell Computers, so I would like to get back as soon as possible. If I'm not there, I'm losin on all that commission!!! Thats no good! Anyway, just wanted to know about how long it took each of you. Thanks!
I'm at a desk job, but I took 2 weeks off. I had a little more scar tissue that needed to be chiseled out, so that's what my doctor recommended for me. I know several lapband patients that had surgery on Thursday and were back at their desk on Monday.
For RNY, I think the standard is 2 weeks, but each doctor is going to have different requirements.

Just moving around in an office chair can really wear ya out after surgery! I was surprised at how little it took to totally exhaust me. The number one priority is to heal (well and sip sip sip). so be careful about returning to work. I've heard that most office jobs the people go back after about 2 weeks.
Take care of yourself!!!
