MRI that SMO can't use

On Wednesday I got a phone call that the lump in my breast needed more tests. I was like huh dun what kind of mode. I got a call yesterday that I am scheduled to have a MRI and a needle biopsy on Tuesday. Today the center calls me and after a few routine questions my weight is asked. The kiss of death....their MRI does not handle my weight! The stupid machine can only handle 289 pounds! So she said she would call me doc back and tell her. At 2:15 the doc calls and says that they can not find an open MRI that can handle my weight and have the special coil needed to do the procedure with. When I asked about the needle biposy that got cancelled to. So apparently I am suppose to wait till next year and have another mammogram. This is really got me mad! I could go home to North Carolina and within a week my Doctor out there will have me scheduled for an MRI and a biopsy.  I am so damned tempted to move back east just cause of health care that I am seriously thinking of packing up and going.   It makes me so mad that I have gone thru hell since Wednesday and I still don't know anything more.

Can't they send you to Tulsa?

The PcP office is calling my surgeon to ask what he would like to do. Go figure that one...I am sure that there has got to be one open MRI that handle my weight plus have the speical coil needed...

You have my prayers darlin.  I've been through a couple of call backs and all turned out to be false alarms, but it's always bad to live in the I don't know zone....

I have gotten to the point that its more like whatever. I am just sick of being told that this machine or that can not handle your weight. So I must be the only large person in Oklahoma that needs a MRI.
