Its Wednesday.....whats up Okies?
I had a tummy tuck and lipo of the side flanks performed by Nathan Miller with Cosmetic Surgery Affiliates in Oklahoma City on June 23rd, 2009.
Thanks, everyone! No, it wasn't that hard to get insurance approval. I carry United Healthcare, and they seem to be really good about approving WLS. However, as with all insurance companies, there are certain criteria that must be met. My first visit with Dr. Gornichec was on June 1. I had to have a few extra tests run due to previous health issues, which slowed the process a bit, but came out to be worth the wait. Again, thanks!
I don't think he's new, but I've only been a bariatric patient of his since June. I know he's been in medicine for awhile...he did my very first colonoscopy at Tinker AFB over 10 years ago. I'm not sure how long he's been in bariatrics, though. I'm having the LapBand. Truthfully, I wanted the RNY, but due to having a diagnosis of Crohn's, I'm only eligible for LapBand. I'm cursed with a doctor who puts my safety and health before my 'wants'. Cathy
Hi,
I was high risk for surgery. My surgeon would only do lap-band. But in my case I didn’t want the slice & dice, I thought lab-band was the better surgery. If I don’t do well, they will do the RY revision later. But from my surgery till 7-12-07, I have lost 64 pounds. I don’t have a high capacity scale.
