From what I understand, the $300 will be applied to the copay for surgery. I'm not sure of any insurance that pays 100% without a minimal deductible or copay, so if memory serves, this $300 will reduce those additional fees.
If you are, in fact, one who has no additional fees from insurance, perhaps this would be a negotiable refund from your insurance company.
Not sure, though. You may need to call Kim at Dr. Gornichec's office to find out the specifics.

From what I understand - once your insurance has paid the 100% - you will get refunded the $300.00. But, the best thing you can do is contact Kim just to make sure - but I'm pretty sure that is the case.
Congrats! Wish mine would have paid 100%!

thanks for the replies.. found out my insurance does pay 100 percent (once I get approved of course) and then the 300 gets reimbursed to me once the insuracnce pays the claim.. im working now to get my five year weight history.. which is kind of hard since I didnt really see a dr regularly until 2004 but I think I am going to be able to find some type of medical records somewhere for 03.... fingers crossed!!!
YEAH! There is light at the end of the tunnel! I am so excited for you. Please keep us posted!

almost had a set back. I couldnt remember who my doctor was in 2005 but luckily i just discovered I can still access my health insurance info from that year (even tho I no longer have that particular insurance).. I was getting worried because the dr's office said my insurance company is pretty strict with having proof that Ive had a bmi of a certain amount for the last five years...
I go to my orientation on aug 27 and my consultation on aug 28 .. I am excited and nervous
