your PCP doesn't support the idea of Lap Band surgery?  My family physician is the worlds worst at keeping records current........or should I say his nurses, he isn't completely convinced that Lap Band surgery is the answer for wieght loss, now my GYN and Cardiologist both said they would support me but don't I need the support of my PCP to have the surgery?

I know that my surgeon said that you have to have the support of your PCP.  That being said - my surgeon also said that if your PCP doesn't support you in your decision, to tell the surgeon and he will give you the names of PCP's that will support you. Remember, this is your body, not the PCP's.  You have to take charge and make this happen for yourself if you want it bad enough - and I know you do - because you are here now. Best wishes! Tonja

If your phys isn't keeping records current, it's time for a new one any way.  For what an office visit costs, accurate records is a minimal thing to ask.  And like Tonja said, it isn't really necessary for him to be convinced if you are.
