Are you thankful?

That is the one question that I ask myself daily.   Am I thankful? When was the last time you stopped in the middle of your busy life and asked yourself are you thankful? With all the craziness that our modern lives have when was the last time you thought about how lucky we really are?  For me, I thank God everyday for being alive and for having the ability to say it freely. I am thankful that even though I am Super morbid obesed that I am far more healthier than others who are less heavier. I am thankful that instead of giving up I gave up to  a higher power than myself.  Are you thankful?

What an awesome thought/question!!!  I love it! Yes, I am so extremely thankful!  I am so thankful to my precious Savior that he allows me this life that he has given me.  I truly thank the Lord for my family and friends and my freedom and...oh my gosh, I could go on and on.  I want to life my life to the fullest as well as give of myself as much as the Lord will allow me to. Thank you again for this wonderful question.  It made me feel good! Tonja

I am glad that it made you feel good. Its something that I have had on my mind. With the difficulty that this journey can be, sometimes you need to stop and be thankful.

Do you have a church that you attend in the OKC area?

When I first moved here I attended a small church which I quickly became disappointed with and have not been to another one since.Unless you count going to a funeral as going to church...

I'm very pleased with our church.  (Hope it's not the same little one you were disappointed in) We attend The Edge Church in Edmond, OK.  We are all about Love, Love, Serve.  Love God, Love Everybody and Serve Everyone.  We are adding on a new building to our church.  The new building is going to be the Warehouse and the current building is going to be the Shed. I know the Lord leads us where we should be and I know at this time - this is where my family is suppose to be. I love that I can be myself.  We don't dress up.  We have an awesome worship band. But, my number one thing is - for the first time in my life, I have a better understand of the Lord and I know that He loves me regardless of the mistakes I've made in my life.  I truly feel free for the first time in my life.  It is such an awesome feeling. I feel like I could go on and on. Anyway, I'm thankful that you are here on the board and that we are getting to know each other. Tonja

It was in Oklahoma City...I think its closed its doors. I am from North Carolina and where I went out there we HAD church. Services started at 10:45am and they ended anywhere from 1 or 2 pm ot later. I miss that. If you were sick and could not come they would bring you a tape. If they thought you were in trouble they were there. When you walked in the door you were greeted like they knew you all of your life. You felt LOVE. Even 1075 miles away I can call and its like I am still there. Sunday mornings I lived for. I loved when the men choir would usher in the preacher singing. Even now I sitting here I can hear them and I want to cry. One of my favorite songs that they sang was down on my knees when I learned how to pray. To hear an 80 year old man bass singer was like being in heaven. My other song is when we all break bread together. Christmas I would make the floral arrangements and make more Christmon decorations.

Aggh-my post got lost. Recap-I am thankful for my family, for living in Oklahoma again, and for learning what really matters before it was too late. I am also very grateful for all the information we have at our fingertips and on our TV's and in our libaries-we have answers our parents never did.
