Southcrest Surgeons?

Does anyone know if Southcrest Hospital in Tulsa is still doing WLS?  I just spoke with Dr. Gorospe's office, and found out that he is now performing surgery at Bailey Medical in Owasso.  I called Southcrest to see who is doing their surgeries, and the Physician's Referral line didn't have any idea!  She did say that they don't have a "Bariatrics" unit, rather they have a "Weight Loss Control Center."  I'm pretty sure this is a fairly recent change... I am ready to change jobs to find a position with insurance which will cover WLS, but I need this information before I make a decision. I'd appreciate any information anyone might have!

Yes Dr. Gorospe is still doing  surgery at southcreat. They have just expanded to Owasso. The phone # is 918-252-2800. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the quick response Lynnette!  I just spoke with Dr. Gorospe's office and the girl there said he is only scheduling surgeries at Bailey Med Center now.  Maybe I just spoke with the wrong person there...

I just went to Dr. G's seminar in June and he said that he was doing about 80% of his surgeries in Owasso and he was/is trying to start doing all of his surgeries out of Owasso. I hope this helps you! Sarah

Dr. G is only doing surgeries at Baliey now.  They will be moving out there soon.  I wanted SouthCrest but they were scheduling everyone at Bailey now.  I've been out to Bailey several times now and I kinda glad they moved.  It's a really nice hospital and it's not so crowed like SouthCrest.

I had all my preop and surgery at Bailey.  I was very impressed with the staff at Bailey. 

Drs. Fisher and Katsis of Tulsa Surgical Associates do wls at Southcrest and St. Francis both.  I think they are the primary wls surgeons working out of Southcrest.

Thanks for your reply!  I even called Southcrest's Physician Line and THEY couldn't tell me which doctors are doing WLS there!  I have heard lots of great things about the Tulsa Surgical Associates team. 

I used Dr. Fisher, and have been very pleased; not only with my surgery but with my follow up care with him and the staff.  They really know what they are doing! :)
