Hi,       I'm new to this board.  I found it by accident.  I was looking for information on insurance coverage of lap-band follow up care.  Is anyone getting insurance coverage of your lap-band fills? Terry

Terry07, you might get a better or quicker response from the LapBand forum. It's under forums towards the top.kristin

Hi!  Come on in and sit for a spell. sooner or later someone will stop by As for the band I have no idea. Personally I would call the insurance company and find out if you are still a premie. If not then as stated before the bandsters could tell yea. beleive they area highly supportive group.

Hi,

Hello Ms. Patty Purple.  Who is the girl with the big brown eyes?  I guess I’m testing the waters on this board.  I belong to several others.  I am a diabetic.  I last had an insulin shot the day of my lap band surgery.  I just had my third band adjustment.

Ms. Terry I have no idea! I wanted an avatar that was simple and had purple in it. After searching for 3 hours I found this one.  I was diagnosed today as a diabetic  again. So I can relate to that. I was told that after surgery  mine should be okay.  have you lost alot of weight yet? I thought about the band but still am up in the air about it. There is a lap band forum on here too if you haven't found it yet.

Hi,

I have lost 64 pounds since my surgery.  I’m off of insulin and another of my diabetic meds.  I was high risk for the surgery and they wouldn’t do the bypass, which was OK because I wanted the lap band anyway.

You are doing great! Did your surgeon require you to lose weight before surgery? Besides the ten day diet? I have to lose 40 pounds before I can even get my date...Protein shakes are now my best friend! UGGGH.

Hi,

Yes, I had already lost some weight on my own.  Then, I had to loose another 10-15 pounds to get the OK to get a surgery date.  It took another 6 or 8 weeks to actually get the surgery date.  The week before the surgery is an all-liquid diet.  Twenty-four hours before the surgery time is a clear liquid diet.

Syntrax Nectar Fuzzy Navel and Champion Pure Whey Stack – Chocolate are good protein supplement choices.

I don't mind doing the shakes if they are ice cold. Its werid how they get warm so quick after they are mixed.

Hi,

I like to blend them with ice.  I also like them hot with hot coffee, S.F. chocolate instant pudding, milk and chocolate supplement.  For some variety add some vanilla, rum, coconut, or mint flavoring to the mocha drink above.
