Good Morning!!!  My name is Deni and I live in Lawton, OK.  Yes, I am a military dependent.  I started seeing a doctor about getting the RNY in March and my doctor sent me to a meeting in Wichita Falls, TX to get started on getting the surgery.  I had a girlfriend who was interested also so she went with me.  We did all our appointments together since it was easier to carpool and cheaper of course.  The nurses and everyone at Dr Mays office started calling us "Bypass Buddies".  We both got approved for our surgery and she had hers on June 28th, which I was supposed to also, but I had a trip I planned back in January that I wasnt willing to get out of. My girlfriend is recovering nicely and has already lost 18 lbs.  I just had my preop yesterday and am having my surgery 730 am on July 16th.  I am very excited but nervous at the same time.  See, my husband was supposed to be there for me when I went into surgery but his father passed away this past Thursday (July 5th) and he had to fly home to help his mom make arrangements.  Now he is driving back because she decided he needed to take his dads truck and boat with him and one of the kids...yeah, someone decided we needed another kid...sounds kind of funny when i think about it.   Currently my husband and I have 3 children.  Our oldest is 18 going on 19 and moving into the dorms for college next month.  We also have a 7 year old daughter and a 3 year old son.  It was never planned to have our children so spread out but for some reason, someone thought i should be raising children most of my life...lol...oh well, and did I mention that I moved my mom in with me just before Christmas...my house is a little full and now his mom thinks we need to help her raise one of the kids she took custody of from his brother.  A 15 year old boy.  Like my house isnt already full. Well, enough of that...so what I was trying to say is that I am a little stressed about something that I have been looking forward to for so long because I dont know if my husband is going to make it back in time for my surgery next week.  I still plan on having it regardless, I will just have my mom or 18 year old go with me.  I would truly feel better though if it was him.  Did I mention that my husband is the love of my life. I have truly introduced my self a whole other level...I really didnt mean to rant but I did want to introduce myself and as you all will notice I tend to always have something to say...lol Deni

Small world...We have been here a year now but before here we were in Bamberg also...We were there from 2001 to end of 2005....then they transferred us to NY only to discover that they sent us somewhere we didnt belong...so then they transferred us to Oklahoma.  I really liked Bamberg alot.  I actually didnt want to leave there.  What years where you there? They are at 1pm and all are welcome :) Hope to see you there! Petra, how are you doing? Shoot me a pm or email! Donna
