Tulsa area Support

Hi all I've been posting on the Texas forum for a couple of months now. My family is moving back to Okie-homa in September07.   We will be in Tulsa north side hopefully.Does anyone else live around there?    I need to get hooked up with some good support and female psychotherapist.   Interested to see who will reply-blessings,Kristin (I have surgery the 9the of July07, which is all the more reason to stay in the major Support Realm)

My surgeon is Dr. Kevin Fisher at Surgical Associates of Tulsa.  We have a support meeting every 2nd Tuesday of the month if your interested in joining.  I'm also going to Laureate Psychiatric Clinic (918) 481-4000 - 6655 S Yale Ave, Tulsa, OK they have three doctors that specialize in the type of care the surgeons require.  That is all I know. rlcolsten507, My husband and I aren't ready to purchase a home or property right now. So we are looking for a nice modest rental with a fenced yard. We have always rented in mobile home neighborhoods, just because we feel we have more privacy. Ofcourse I eventually would like a real house-house. But because my husband is still in (will be) we haven't decided where to land. He's also in the military .We might end up around Fort Sill... We are looking for a 3 bedroom house or mobile home in suitable neighborhood-we need a yard w/a fence for the kids and our D O G :  )). I hope our move goes smoothly ,, and I find the resources the universe has lined up for me. any suggestions I'm listening.Kristin

We had a great group in Tulsa, but it disbanded due to some yucky behavior. I would love to see about putting a new one together.

There is a new support group starting up in Broken Arrow. The first meeting is Saturday, July 21st at 11:00 am. We will be in one of the meeting rooms at the Broken Arrow Library on Broadway. Please feel free to bring a gastric bypass friendly snack to share. I'll be leaving my kids with a babysitter, and we ask that everyone try to do that (with the exception of nursing babies) to try to cut down on the distraction. This meeting is for pre or post ops, families friends or folks who are just curious. I'd love to get a head count of who all thinks they'll be there.

Dapht, I haven't moved to Tulsa yet- I still haven't gotten my surgery yet.If my EKG gets an okay the 5th I will be having my surgery the 9th of July.    We will be moving back to Oklahoma in Early Sept., I will need to find a good doctor (bariatric)to have the interval check ups.We are scouring the north side of  Tulsa. We were told that is one of the safer areas???? Is this true??   Please let me know how the meeting goes..I will still be in recovery around July 21st. I sincerely hope the meeting goes smoothly and that it is a time of nurturing and sharing. My best --Kristin

Hi Kristin, I just wanted to let you know that North Tulsa is the ruff part of Tulsa.  You might want to come to Tulsa for a weekend to check out the locations available.
