support groups

Does anyone go to a support group in the OKC area that you actually get to discuss the after effects of WLS?  I go to my surgeons groups and they are simply pre-ops wanting to ask questions.  The most I get from the meetings is learning about new products from other people there.  Could possibly attend a Saturday meeting in Tulsa also.

Weightwise has support groups monthly that cater to both pre and post op.  There is usually a speaker for about 45 minutes at the beginning and then the rest is free form discussion.  You can check the support group meeting times at weightwise.com.  Although this is sponsored by Weightwise it is not just for that programs participants.  There is a lap band group as well as a gastric bypass group.  Lap band meets first Tuesday of the month and the RNY meets the first Thursday of the month.  Please take a look at the website for additional information. Hi! Have you gone to the support group that meets near Lake Overhotlser....They met every 3rd thursday of the month its mainly post ops. Last night there was only 2 premies....And the whole meeting was for post ops. If you might be interested just pm and I will give you the directions. Pattye
