You can check out Weightwise in Edmond. They utilize Foundation Bariatric Hospital - housed in the same building.  They take self pay patients as well.  I believe the pricing is very competitive - (don't quote me) but I think around $15000 for lap band and $29000 for bypass.  Those prices could have changed since I went through my surgery almost a year ago.  You can get more information from their website www.weightwise.com and there is a toll-free number that you can call directly to a management specialist who can give you more information. They are a very successful practice and multidiscliplanary.  Follow up is excellent and expected by the surgeons.  They have patients from all over the region and have over 200 surgeries at this particular facility in the past 1 1/2 years.  I believe the # of pounds quoted lost is approximately 10,000.   I highly recommend the program and if you have any questions about the surgeons, facility, staff, program I would be happy to answer them.   Good Luck in your journey!

Thanks for the information.  I am trying to acheive my goals with out the re-morgaging of my home of taking out a large loan.  I have  X amount squirreled away and a budget to stick to and I am wanting to remain within those guidelines. If things go well after I acheive my primary goal of having surgery, I plan on taking a second job in order to rebuild my nest egg in order to pursue plastic surgery in the future, something I will also have to self pay for, since my insurance excludes that also. I am looking at the verticle gastric sleeve for the stand point of cost effectivness.

I was self pay with Dr. Walton in Edmond.  I had the RNY and it was $25,000.  The cost covered all preop appts.(dietician, psychologist, fitness trainer, drs, bloodwork, labs, etc), surgery and surgery related fees.  It also covers follow up visits for a year(dietician, psychologist, dr. and fitness trainer), I have had quite a bit of followup appointments and the help has been very important.  I think I had appointments every month until 3 months, then at 6 month, 9 months and 12 months.  I have lost 130 lbs. in 6 months so I can't complain :o)  Good luck on your search.  I know it is a lot of money and I will be financing it for quite awhile but I would never change a thing.  It is definetly worth it!

Linda: I can tell you that neither Dr Walton or Dr Broussard at Weightwise do VGB.  They are extremely well experienced in Lap Band and RNY however.   Please let me know if you have additional questions in regards to this set of doctors.  I have been very happy with my experience and success. Ruth

Hi Linda, I am selfpaying and going to Mexico for my RNY for $11,900.  I will be using Dr. Gorospe in Tulsa for my aftercare. He sees folks who chose to go outside the US for WLS. This is a good option for me because I want to pay cash and not have to finance.  I looked into financing through a Med. Finance Co. and the payments would be about $425.00 a month for 3 years and my credit is in the mid 640-700  range so unless you got a great credit score the interest can be whopping. I think you could start calling doctors offices or go online and email them asking the total costs for procedures. I contacted Dr.Gorospe via the net and asked about aftercare and they shot me a self pay figure but I just cant afford it. Hope ya find all the info you are hunting and good luck

I am sitting here in tears after I see that Dr. Walton is Edmond and doing the surgery. I am originally from Enid, and his reputation is stellar. His wife was on my son's Make-A-Wish team. My insurance company has denied covering my surgery. I am calling Dr. Walton today.
