I'm currently working with Dr. Katsis & Dr. Fisher and they accept self pay patients.  They also have options for financial companys that will work out loans with you. They are at Surgical Associates in Tulsa.  Look them up!

Hi Linda, Don't know if you want to travel to OKC, but I had lap band 4-5-07 with Dr. Eldridge and I was self-pay.  He,  and his staff, are wonderful! Good Luck to you !

Hi Linda,  I am self pay, with Dr. Gornichec.  The cost for Lap-Band is 15,000.  Plus 900 for the anesthesiologist.  The 15 covers the doc, and all the hospital stuff. This does not include the pre-op testing.  Hope this helps.

Oh, didn't realize you were looking for cost.  They won't tell you what it will be till you have your first consultation.  $434 for your inital consultation at Surgical Associates of Tulsa, $300 for your psychiatric evaluation.  I'm not sure what the pre-surgery tests will cost yet.

Well if you are self pay and can choose where and when, then you might want to check out Dr. Chris Coleman at www.cooperclinic.com in Fort Smith AR, it is only 1 hour from you and he has patients that come from even further away.  I can tell you I did LAP RNY with him and for him, the hospital and the pre-op testing without discounts was $35,000.  Now I am sure discounts can be worked out and discussed with the proper person on this, but my surgeon bill was $5,000 with the insurance discount he got $2500, the hospital bill was $23,000 and they got $12,000 with the insurance discount so I am sure if you brought this to their attention they would work with you. This is my first time posting. I am also a self-pay and I have been researching Mexico. I have a surgeon in Tulsa that was trained by Dr Ortiz in Tijuana and will perform all my follow-up and fills for me. I have read very good comments on him  in the forums, and my surgeon  is OK with him doing the surgery. I haven't set a date yet but it looks like August. I am trying to decide if I am going alone or taking my mother. The cost is $8500.00. I wasn't able to find anything I could afford here. Candy

I applied for Care Credit through Surgical Associates today.  Lap-band could be as high as $17,000 RNY $20,000.  I've been approved for $20,000 just in case!!! YIPPY!!! 2 steps down 20 to go!

What I have found so far is, in Mexico and abroad there are loads of surgeons that charge resonable rates for their  services, depending on what you want done. In America there are surgeons that will give discounts to patients that are self pay, and some that do not. I found a few in Dallas  that are resonable. I would like to see a doctor in the us just for the pupose of follow up and ect... I found a doctor in another state that is the most resonably priced and has a good reputation in his field that I am probably going to chose to do my surgery. My husband wanted me to find out about other surgeons in Oklahoma, closer to home.  Oklahoma does't have very many surgeons that perform bariatric surgery to start with and they tend to want as much as they charge the insurance companies.
