Well, I attended the seminar for Surgical Associates of Tulsa last night.  I thought all my answers would come to light, they didn't tell me anything that I didn't already know and researched on line. I'm dissappointed, I did NOT like the lady from the Dr's office that finished up the presentation, and it makes me wonder should I go to a different Dr's seminar to compare?  It will be AT LEAST 6 - 8 months before I can get surgery. I'm joining Curves for Women and getting back on the weigh****chers saddle again too.  Dissappointed but moving forward.

By all means, go to another seminar.  I consulted three bariatric surgeons before I found one I was comfortable with and who did not require weight loss before surgery.  I lost weight before surgery but there was no pressure.  When I finally met my surgeon, I knew he was the one.  My PCP had warned me about surgeons that loved doing the surgery but had no after care.  He said he wasn't the person I wanted to treat my post op complications.  As it turned out, I did have complications but Dr. Rodriguez was there for me.   Are there any questions I can answer for you?  I will be happy to try. The Tulsa area is really limited as far as bariatric surgeons go. I'd let Katsis or Fisher work on me...but no one else (Lets see how many people flame me). That is just my personal opinion that was developed by having an "IN" with other offices. Please remember that the Lady from the office will not be treating you...the surgeon will. Can you go ahead and get a consult and see if you can get any questions answered that way?   Daph

Thank you for your responses, I've went ahead and moved forward with the surgeon that I've originally chosen.  I'm getting the paper work together and the money, financial aid, and such.  Thank you again for your support, I really appreciate it!

This can be a long, hard, and scarey journey. Know that I am here for you...honestly. If you need anything, send me a personal message through O H.
