Sorry no one has been able to give you an answear. I had RNY 4 years ago, I belive it is the same basic diets. 80 percent protien water lots of water.I lost from 268 down to 140lbs.  I have gained 30 of it back because I added too many carbs back in my diet. So I started my protien shakes back . I try to a least get in 4 shakes a day. My problem is the water, I prefer Diet Dr Pepper. I also need to start moving. What you might try to do is go to FITDAY.com and see what your calorie intake is.I was eating almonds and could not figure out why I was not losing weight. besides what I ate in a day for my normal meals, I was geting an extra 1500 calories from my almonds.Make my calories around 3000. There is so many slider foods out there that mess people up. That goes for banders like you and RNY people like me. Try protien first as a rule, then anything else. Try not to drink with your meals, another habit I need to brake.  Plus you might have( plataued),dont think I spelled that right. You will get tired of hearing this go back to your basics. Find a protien shake you can stand, low carb . My hubby has had nothing done and when he started following my basic he started losing weight.I really wanted to slap him for that! Don't forget to give yourself a free day,The only problem with them is it is hard to get back to the basics. Do not get anger with yourself for we all are emotional eaters.  Well I hope this helps you. Good luck to you, I will keep all posted on my progress to lose this 30lbs I allowed back in my life, and if I slapped my hubby for losing weight so easy.                                                              Robin

Sometimes you might get a bit of a quicker reply if you will send a PM to someone who is farther out than you are. I've not had any problem with losing weight. You will need to give more specific here. What size band do you have?  How often are you exercising?  Are you keeping a food journal - what are you eating?  How is your water intake?  Have you discussed this with your doctor?  Are you one that needs to lose a lot more than 100+ pounds or are you needing to lose 100 pounds or less?  Have you had your thyroid checked out?  How much are you eating at a sitting?   You have to remember that the band is just a tool.  You still have to find the will power inside yourself to make this work.  Also, on the lap band board, someone posted about the 8 bite rule - have you considered that? For me this has been a great experience.  I've had my up times with it and some down times with it.  When I've had my down times - I've only had my own self to blame. Give us more info please. Tonja

Hi Tonja I have a 10 cc band. I do need to lose 125 pounds. I see that you are doing good on your weight. In the morning i drink a protain drink, its hard to get anything down in the morning, lunch is about 2 cups and supper after i get the first two bites down its like i dont even have a band on. But i dont eat like there is no band, i will stop after 2 or 3 cups. Im going to the Dr. today @ 3.30 and see what he has to say. I dont know how to tell if my band has sliped but like i said after 2 or 3 bits of a lot of chewing and getting that down it seems to just open up and dump in. Thanks for replying back Tonja. Charlie

Hi Charlie, I read your  post today and I am interested in how things are going now?  I had lap band on 4-5-07 and my first saline fill on 5-17.  I have only lost 17 lbs and feel very little restriction.  Let me know how your progress is now.  I have another appointment for a fill on 7-5 and I am really hoping to have some restriction after that! Hi Ann,  I did get a fill about 2 weeks ago and that puts me at 9.5cc in my 10cc band. Now I can tell i have restriction all day.  17 pounds in about 5 or 6 weeks sounds good to me. Thats what i would like to do, loose  about 3 pounds a week. Now i did not fill much restrictuon intell i got about 6cc in my band. Hang in there and dont get mad about not filling much restriction on your first few fills.  After i got my last fill i have lost 6 more pounds. I think i have got to my sweet spot where the pounds will start coming off faster. Let me know how you are doing now and what ever you do DON'T give up. I know i almost did 2 times. Keep me posted Thanks, Charlie

Hi Charlie, I have the 10cc band and I have 1.75cc in my band.  Now, one thing to find out also is - do you have the Vanguard band or the regular 10cc band...  I have the regular one.  The thing you have to remember is that we are all going to be different on this (I'm sure that get old - hearing that).   When I eat, I can never eat more than 1 cup of food at a sitting - so the 2 or 3 cups of food blows me away.  When you get a fill, can you feel any restriction what so ever?  If not or if only for a very short time - they need to do your next fill by fluero to make sure that your fill is not leaking out.  I'm not saying that to scare you - but you could possibly have a leak.  There is just no way in the world (except for before my first fill) that I could have eaten more than 1 1/2 cups of food at the most - but seriously - I'm only able to get in a cup - and - my doc has said that when you get to where you can eat more than 1 cup of food - you should really consider getting another fill.   Now, something to remember - we can eat through our band.  We have to remember that the band is a tool and the rest is up to us - so we really have to get in our heads "willpower".  Without it - the band won't help do a thing. I am really interested in your outcome today with the doctor. I am going to send you a PM with my personal email address in there so we can talk more about what you are going through. Tonja
