Surgery Over & I have a major concern
Hi All,
I had my surgery (lap band) on April 5th. I want to thank-you for all of the kind notes and words of encouragement! My computer died the week before surgery and we finally got a new one last night.
Surgery was really easier than I thought. I have been surprised at my lack of energy! I do have a concern and I am hoping some one can give me advice. I am not scheduled for my first saline fill until May 17th. At this point I have not found anything that I can't eat. My appetite is somewhat less than before surgery, but not as much as I was hoping. Will I feel different after the fill and is this normal to have almost the same appetite as before surgery. I guess I am pretty worried about it! Thanks for any advice or help!
Ann
Hi Ann,
What you are experiencing is extremely normal. I remember having the same thoughts and wondering why in the world did I spend my money on this. But, you are going to be feeling restriction with your fills. Depending on the size of your band and how big of a fill you receive will determine how much restriction you will feel. If your doc is conservative with the fill, it may take you a little longer to get to the "sweet zone". Just be cautious of what you eat and don't over do. Your stomach is till going through the healing process. Also, make sure you get in the water!
