Hi all, Well, I made the trip to San Antonio,Tx and it was a mixture of alot of things, great, frustrating, sore and madding but I would do it again. First the trip took 10 hours to get there ,geesh. The fact that I had to ride down in hubbys little mustang didnt help, that car isnt made for something with a larger size! It was a 10 hour trip oneway , I knew it would be rough as our van is down ,Hubby tried to cancel trip and tell me to wait for him to fix the van but I said no way I will survive,Love the man but our van has been down since before christmas, and he still has found time to fix it,sooo I endure the pain for the long term benifet. I finally met Dr Patel and he is a really nice guy, I about flipped out when I got weighed , the last time I was 410 but now I am at 470 and honestly it shocked the hell out of me. sigh. I know it is because I have moblitity issuses I either am sitting on the bed or the couch is about all my knees let me do I cant stand for long periods of time ,heck a few mins seems too much. Anyways I have to go on a 4 month diet. 2 months on a 1800 calorie diet and 2 months on a liquid protien diet with one meal aday solid the other 2 meals liquid protien . With a optional protien drink if really needed. I know he is doing this to help cut my risks of dying on the operating table. That is the one thing that scares me the most. The one comforting thing and a major reason I chose Dr Patel is that he never has had a death. So, I am doing what he says , I now have to find a PCP here in Tulsa. Anyone know of good PCP who is good with overwieght people and supports gastricbypass? I also have Medicare and Medicade so they have to accept those insurances, any suggestions of someone in the area would be helpful. I also have to have a sleep study, stress test and some labs done. So ,I will get those done while doing the diet thing. Anyone also know of good tasting protien drinks let me know ,as that is the one thing that gots me abit worried ,if the taste isnt good it will be a looooong 2 months lol Thanks Ann

I didn't have a PCP when I went to Dr. Gornichec's WLS seminar. I called his office and they were nice enough to suggest several PCP. Perhaps Dr. Patel's office knows of someone in Tulsa?
