QUESTION ABOUT SMOKING/CHEWING TOBACCO

Has anyone been a smoker or chewed tobacco before surgery? How far in advance did you quit before surgery? Is there any one out there who didn't quit and still had surgery? I know there's support programs for quitting. I just want to know if anyone has dealt with not being able to quit. I appreciate any input. Thanks. Cj

I had quit about 2 years b4 surgery, so I was OK when I had surgery. but started up again about a year after surgery and it gave me an ulcer. Quit again....the started smoking about 9 months ago and guess what....... another ulcer..... so I quit for good I hope............................................
