Looks Like This Board is falling apart due to underuse!

Surely we must have interesting things to talk about here in Oklahoma. I'd say we should be darn happy to have so many well qualified bariatric surgeons in the Tulsa and Oklahoma City areas alone, not to mention the whole state. I've read posts from people in other states talking about having to drive hours to get to a surgeon who can do their surgery. We are soon to have THREE centers of excellence qualified in this state alone, and that is a major big deal. Surely we could/should be tooting our horns a little bit more in celebration, or at least sharing our pre-op/post-op questions and glory where we can expect some to actually reply back! I'm still pre-op, and hopefully for not much longer. What kind of support, feedback or anything else would any of my fellow OH'ers be willing to give! Come on in!

Staci; I agree with you 100%. I check here everyday to see what's new and usually it not much. I wish we could get more activity going on this board. Jane

I am a pre-op too, but It only took a couple of weeks to get my approval and next week i will be off to see Dr. Nelson in Norman. I am planning surgery at Norman Regional which is a 3 hour drive, but I am not complaining. I have been transplanted to Oklahoma by my husband, but when I was researching this surgery in Little Rock where I lived before it was unheard of for insurance to cover RNY. And we have a major employeer in SE Oklahoma that covers it with employee health insurance.

Well, it sure is nice to hear from some of my fellow Okies, and some new, transplanted Okies. We've really got to stick together. I'm still waiting on a date and I think I've really ticked off the bariatric coordinator at the doctor's office. See my topic on it!
