Margo - it will get better! Just keep following your doctor's orders and you will turn the corner soon! Keep up your water especially! With the heat the way it is here in central OK - you will get dehydrated FAST! I am being treated for dehydration now and it is not fun! There are some other things too, but keep on trucking and you will get past this! Good Luck!!! Welcome to the losing side!

Congrats, Margo! Who did your surgery and where? Keep us posted on your progress. I am a pre-op and am trying to follow Okies who have had WLS. There is not a lot of participation on this forum, so I was glad to see your post. Good luck in your recovery!!!

Margo, congratulations on your surgery. I haven't had mine yet, but everyone says it gets better, and every posting I've read said they would do it all over again, even though the beginning can be bumpy.

It's been more than 4 days out...how are you doing now? For me, it did not get better. It got real bad--to the point of emergency surgery 3+ months later to save my life. I listened to everyone who said it would get better, so I waited figuring time would heal all things. WRONG! You see, my surgeon, Dr. Henry Pearce & Edmond Medical Center, left a surgical sponge inside of me. This has devastated my life. Had it not been for my best friend spending 4 hours talking me into going to the emergency room, I would have died. I came pretty close to that during the sponge removal surgery as it was. Don't be afraid to go around your doctor. Don't be afraid to question him or her or their decisions! Don't wait for it to get better! I did, and it just about killed me. Although my lawsuit against Dr. Pearce and Edmond hospital was settled on 9/20/06, my health problems are not. I experience what I describe to be a "living death" right now. All my previous hopes, dreams, aspirations--all gone. I've had to adjust to a life of permanent physical disabiity and I am grateful to be alive. Don't wait--get anything checked out that makes you feel ill. If your doctor pooh-poohs you or your symptoms, find another doctor that's responsible enough to locate your problem. Please!
