Topic: Need new pcp in central Ohio
Hi All - I'm 4+ years post op and very happy with my results. My beloved primary care doctor closed her practice last summer and I need a new one who has experience with other RNY post op patients. The new guy just doesn't get it, and I don't think he even cares -- I'm tired of teaching him =-) Any advice for someone you see and like? Newark, Columbus, Mt. Vernon, areas ....
Topic: RE: OSU Med Center and Billing for WLS
No I've not seen any additional billing other than the initial amount I had to pay.
Sorry I didn't check back here sooner...
HOpe you are doing well....

Does anyone know of a Post-Op Support Group near Mt Healthy (Cincinnati)?

No, but medicaid/caresource has pre-approved me. They don't seem to have an issue with bariatric surgery at all, so if you find a reputable place that you feel comfortable at, you shouldn't have a problem.

Topic: RE: Celebrating an XL
Oh yeah! I am loving my local big girls' consignment shop (I can't resist a shout out to Curvy Consignments). Second hand clothes are keeping me from going broke.
Congrats on your success!!! I keep wondering where I will be at 1 year out. . .

Congratulations to all! I can't believe I don't have to automatically jump to the far end of the rack looking for a 3X! I'm into mostly XL now but have recently found some capris in large that fit great. Even shoes fit better! I'm grateful for thrift stores while going through size transitions.
I had the surgery (RNY) for the health benefits just as much as for the weight loss and thankfully I'm enjoying both! It was the best decision I've ever made and can't believe it's been one year already. But while saying that, I also know that it's only been one year and I have the rest of my life to continue the good trends I've learned. It's not a cure but it sure helps! And getting into smaller clothes is just one way to enjoy the path I've chosen!

Topic: RE: Looking for some Cleveland Members
Hi...I too have Dr. Ben-Meir as my surgeon at St. Vincents.
My surgery is scheduled for 7/19. I'm so very excited and scared at the same time. But I have great faith in the dr. I went through the six month diet, I also had to have a sleep study done. At my pre op my EKG was a little abnormal so I have to see the cardiologist on the 11th but the nurse from his office said its just a formality and I'd be fine to proceed with the surgery. My approval from my insurance only took 4 days!! I had read so many horror stories about how insurance companies refuse you then you have to re-submit and beg and plead your case with them....but they approved me right away :) How far are you into your six month diet? IF there is anything they want you to do for approval, make sure you get it all done in that six month period. I made that mistake. I waited until after my six month diet then went for the sleep study thinking they'd take me right away and I'd have the results right away. Well, it was about another 2 months before my letter could be put into the insurance company for approval. My husband has 2 months to go on his 6 month diet. Then he too is having the same surgery. If there are any ?'s you have I'd be happy to answer them for you the best I can.
