The weight comes off in fits and starts.  I keep track of my weight in an excel spreadsheet & graph it.  And sure enough, it's full of tiny short-term plateaus.  But overall, I've lost 123 lbs and it just keeps coming off.  So dispare not!  And as someone else on here said, if you aren't losing pouds, you're probably losing inches.

I am doing everything the my dr's told me to do.  I am journaling on my fitness pal and taking my vitamins, I am just now able to get all of my water in.  I am also exercising.  I knew that hitting a plateau was inevitable I just didnt want it to happen so soon.

Thanks for the advice.  Everyone here is soo helpful.

don't compare yourself to anyone else!!!!  I use to plateau ALL the time.  Just keep doing what you are supposed to do and the weight will come off.  I always found (and still find) it really helpful during a plateau to go back to keeping a food journal.  I often found I wasn't eating enough.  Seems crazy when compared to my old life.  Are you taking your vitamins?

I had RNY on June 20th.  I am not sure if I could be at a plateau already?  I have been stuck at 215 for the past week.  I didn't think I would be stuck this soon after surgery.  I am exercising, drinking water and eating just as the Dr told me too.  I know that as long as I am doing the things that I was told to do I will lose weight...... It just seems like i am losing weight slower than others.

I had surgery at Cleveland Clinic on June 20th and had an awesone experience.  I would suggest anyone go there. I had Dr Chand, but my neice had Dr Schauer and I stayed with her at the hospital.  He was great.  From the Dr's to nurses to assistants to cleaning staff and transporters.... Everyone was great.

I don't know Dr. Curry and have never been to Jewish Hospital.  But I had an RNY by Dr. Schauer at the Cleveland Clinic and I was REALLY impressed with both him, the Cleveland Clinic, and the Bariatric Unit.

Whatever you decide, good luck.  I wish you all the best!!

It may very well not be working because, as a delayed release medication, you may not be absorbing enough of it.  With RNY, we are not supposed to take any time/delayed release medication.  Some poeple take it and don't have any problem, but others find that it deos not help.

It is also relatively common for people to feel as if anti-depressants stop working as well after a period of time.

There are LOTS of anti-depressants out there... talk to your prescribing doc to see about increasing the dose or switching meds (or possibly adding in another mediction along with the Cymbalta).

 Hi There,

Dr Ben-Meir did my gastric sleeve May 25th he is excellent and Dina is the best. My whole life has changed. I had a few moments and even days that were far from good, but I don't regret any of it. Best of luck to you.
