Met with surgeon to discuss revision to RNY
Waiting to begin the 6 month nutritional program
It's the second biggest surgery besides the heart. Don't be worried they are excellent. The hospital staff is great.

I don't know whether that's encouraging or terrifying!
Biggest as in... most dangerous? Or biggest as in, the only surgeries they do more are heart?
And they moved my surgery up a week today. So now it's 4/7, and 4/6 they're placing my IVC filter. So glad I don't have to arrange all that!
I spoke with my doctor's nurse and she said WLS is the second biggest surgery they do at Riverside. Heart is the first.

I don't know all the different providers for Medicaid, but there was a thread a few down from yours for UHC requirements.
I think Caresource requires 9 months of supervised dieting, Molina 6 months like UHC. I don't know what the others are, but pretty much all insurance companies are supposed to make their benefits listings/handbooks available online so you can make the best decision of what company to go with.
I'd start looking at each site and do some comparison shopping :)
Good luck!
I'm in Scioto County (Portsmouth area), and my surgeon is Dr. Rana, he's with Dr Sonnanstine at Riverside.
Got my surgery date today: 4/14, which is almost exactly a year since I watched the first seminar online in 2015. Can't wait for the next five weeks to pass.
Glad to hear that you're doing well after your surgery, JMay. Wishing you a speedy and pain-free recovery!
Thank you for the kind words... Everything went great, was in the hospital a couple days, and now I'm home recovering...
Feel great...
Hi,,,had my surgery at Cleveland clinic by Dr schauer,,on Dec 7,2015,,just about 13 weeks post op..I started my journey weighting 252 lbs,,,today I have a total loss of 72 lbs,,current weight 180,,,40 more pounds to reach my goal
Still trying to get this revision rolling after setbacks.
I wanted to know if anyone has used one of the Medicaid backed plans to get surgery. What were you required to do?
I had Molina before, but I am leaning towards UHC Community Plan. I still want to get the DS done, but it looks Dr. Teel left Premier Bariatrics in Dayton.
I am thinking Dr. Schumacher in Kettering or Dr. Lalor in Wood County.
Thoughts?
I hope everything went well for you today!!! Today is day one of a new life!
