Topic: NE Ohio (Akron area) WLS Support Group on Facebook
Hi All,
I am a member of the Movin' Forward Long-term Bariatric Surgery Support Group. We are not affiliated with any hospital or organization. We formed this group to provide a place for long-term bariatic patients to meet and help each other. Our members are generally 18 months out of surgery but we welcome anyone who believes they are ready for a more long-term approach to support. You can find us on Meetup.com at http://www.meetup.com/MovinForward/.
We recently began hosting some events that we opened the invitation to all bariatric patients. We setup a Facebook page where we share the details of these events. I invite you to join this group and consider joining us in an upcoming event. We are hiking through November, considering attending a yoga class in November, and looking at some wintertime activities. You can find our page at http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Movin-Forward-WLS-Support-G roup/168563279897511

AGENDA: Open Forum
Topics: HEALTHY HOLIDAY HINTS!
It’s that time of year when extra calories, empty calories, fat, and sugar are plentiful. Many times the goodies and special foods of the holidays can be an obstacle course for a weight
loss surgery patient. The busy hustle of the holidays can put the most committed exercise program last in your list.

Topic: RE: Fresh Start Bariatrics at Riverside
We are aware that some Fresh Start Bariatrics patients have experienced a delay in the submission of their records to their insurance companies for pre-authorization of their planned surgery because of Dr. Myers' decision to leave the program. Unfortunately, the program was unable to proceed with submitting these claims for pre-approval because Dr. Myers left the program before we were able to complete the process for Dr. Sonnanstine, our new surgeon, to be included as a participating provider with these insurance companies. The program is committed to ensuring that this delay does not result in patients affected by this issue having to redo certain pre-surgical therapies. The process for enrolling a new provider with an insurance carrier typically takes 45 to 60 days. However, we are working diligently with the major insurance carriers to try to expedite this process. As such, we anticipate that Dr. Sonnanstine will be fully enrolled with the major insurance carriers by October 24, 2011. As soon as we receive confirmation that your insurance carrier's system has been updated to include Dr. Sonnanstine as a participating provider, we will submit your records. Our insurance specialist will personally contact each of you once your records have been submitted. We appreciate your patience through this transition.

I would love to attend, but because of the drive a weekend afternoon would work best for me.
Topic: NE Ohio WLS Hikers and their Families and Friends

Join us today and stay up to date with our happenings. http://www.spinoffcyclists.com/
Also, we have a group of WLS post-ops doing the Metro Parks Hiking Spree. You can join us this Saturday morning at 10 a.m. at Deep Lock Quarry for a hike.
