I attended the support group meeting this month and have to say I was impressed with Dr Sonnanstine. I think you all will be happy with the short wait during the transition.

I am very impressed with the new doctor with Fresh Start. As for school systems and neighborhoods, I am partial to Upper Arlingon having grown up there but Dublin is very good also.

Columbus is such a large area you would do well to research the area online to determine what area(s) would it your financial situation the best. As far as Dr. and support groups, check out the Fresh Start program at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Best wishes.

I have Wellcare of Ohio and was approved for the Gastric Sleeve The approval took 1 week to receive. Wellcare stated they had 14 days to decide and told me a half hour before the doctor office called to say I was approved they still had not made a Decision.

I used to go to State Road Family Practice in North Royalton, to the senior Dr. Frantz. (His son is also a GP in this practice)
I'm not sure I would go as far as to call him 'fat friendly', but when I saw him for minor things I was never abused/berated by him or his staff at 450+ lbs.
I also saw him pre-DS and he agreed to help me with post surgery follow-ups, since I was having my surgery out of the country. Based on that and the fact they are associated with one of the hospital RNY programs, I would say he's reasonably pro-WLS.

I will be moving to the Columbus area from Tampa florida (big shock)! I will be needing a lap band doctor recomendation and a support group. Any one with info? I appreciate it. Also info on good high schools and neighborhoods would be a help too.
