Yes we need to!  That is awesome that you are doing the same surgeon and live so close!  We will have to be buddies!  I'll create a support group during all my downtime after the surgery.

Hi Kim! Great to see this post. I'm also in Columbus and Dr. Sonnanstine is my surgeon, too.  Yes, I'm very interested in joining a support group. I am pre-surgery; I have my last NUT visit on the April 22 and then I think they'll submit my paperwork to my insurance.

I also see that you are tagged as in Worthington -- I live in Worthington, too. We definitely need to get this support group going! Good luck to you!

Hey all..  I'm in Columbus, which is a huge city with all its suburbs and I cannot find any support groups that aren't affiliated with a hospital.  I'd like to create one.  Either through here, or through Meetup.com.  Would anyone be interested?  Not sure what exactly we would do for activities, any groups i've been in for other things involve food.

I'd really like to get this set up, I think there are alot of people who would be very interested.

Kim

I had Dr. Stacy Brethauer at the Cleveland CLinic.  He was fabulous.  Him and Dr. Schauer are partners there.   It was a good experience at the clinic

Yes, Dr. Philip Schauer at The Cleveland Clinic.

I originally had a WLS in the late 70's.  It was extreme and was discontinued.  Due to medical complications, I had to have the procedure reversed in the mid 80's.   There was concern regarding the condition of the small intestines and the feasibility of the RNY.

I was in surgery for 7 hours, however, I seem to be off to a good start. (I think they may have stepped out for dinner and a movie).

Best Wishes.

Just curious. Would you recommend your surgeon for a WLS revision surgery?

Topic: Seeking info on Dr. Matthew Fourman

He is the only bariatric surgeon in the Mercy system in Toledo and I'm having a hard time finding out anything about him. He used to be based in Michigan. Anyone familiar with this doctor?

I have caresource. My bill was paid 100%! My surgery was 12/11/12 and I was required to see the dietitian for nine months
