Why do I feel so gasy all the time? I can't seem to get it out, and if I do I have to pu**** out. Or basically burp myself.

Get the FACTS about the Duodenal Switch at www.DSFACTS.com
I want to second T.
I was schedualed for RNY surgery at St. Vincent when I first took the drive to Toledo. Dr. Lane performs every major WLS - Nobody else in northern Ohio does - and can give an honest assessment of which you should get.
Make an appointment, if only for a consult.

Here is your catch 22...a lot of insurances WILL COVER BUT FINDING a DOC that will TAKE INSURANCE is another thing. At the time I had MMO and there were over 25 PS docs in network I called all 25 of them in the Dayton/Cincinnati area and NONE of them would take/accept insurance. Then say it's just not enough MONEY for what they do. So here I am all these years later with a lot of extra skin, rashes and ill fitting clothing. Start saving now a TT runs around 6-15 K a full body lift will be about double. There are people that go south for a lot less but then what happens if you have trouble and need a follow up most docs don't want to deal with someone elses trouble.
Your best bet is to find a NEW doc that is just starting up and NEED new people to get started they MIGHT take insurance just to get you in the door.
Good Luck,
Robin

Hi all,
I had my Lap DS 5 months ago and am 90 lbs down. I have 90 more to lose. I'll def need skin removal when I'm done.
Anybody had any luck getting Medical Mutal (Supermed plus) to cover plastics?
Any info appreciated!
Thanks, Christy

I'd be interested in joining too!
I don't know if it'd be helpful or not but there's a website called meetup.com where people post clubs and groups they have formed. You can post meet-up times on there and directions and such... and it's a good way to find more members. I've been on there a couple times and I always see people looking for WLS support groups or exercise support groups. It's a pretty cool site and an easy way to keep members of the group informed about meet-ups and people can RSVP.

Tonya,
Looking at your profile, you must attend my support group at Summa. Actually the three of us (me, Susan and Chris) are all Summa patients. We are planning away right now. We will be presenting the club at the March support group meeting. We are also now planning our kick-off event and picnic on June 12 on the Towpath in Canal Fulton. It will also be the Summa bariatric group's picnic. So things are moving. We would LOVE to have your family cycle with us. We have a great time and look forward to seeing more people join us. We can always use another person help with planning too!

I would love to join. My husband and I both decided when we get our income tax money back that we are buying bikes. I would like to be with people that are not judgemental. I am out of shape and have not rode a bike in about 15 years. Please keep me informed.
