Topic: RE: seen the surgeon now waiting for evaluations
Hi Amy!

The psych eval will basically be a one on one rehash of the green paperwork you filled out.  There are some very vital questions they ask about your history (don't lie about anything, it's really important)

From my understanding they are looking to weed out anyone who might be prone to anorexia and bulemia (go figure... if we had those issues we wouldnt' be fat would we? lol)  but it DOES Happen.  I have SEEN hit happen.  People go to the extreme after surgery and barely eat.  My heart goes out to these people who suffer like that, but that's what this evaluation is for.

They will not deny you if you have any controllable issues.  I know quite a bit of people who get approved with depression, bi-polarity, yaddah yaddah yaddah... the eval is just for your safety.  It's nothing special really, again just a recap of the questions on your green papers.

They want to make sure you're gonig to be successful, and your family/support system is ready to support you (but don't worry, if they aren't I'm sure they won't deny you so as long as YOU are ready)

Good Luck!!

Topic: RE: Getting Closer to WLS
I too went to Dr Myers and recommend him as well. I had a sleeve On March 10 and have had minimal discomfort. So far I have lost 43 pounds so am very happy with my results. He also has a monthly support group plus a bunch of his patients meet for lunch once a month on a weekend.
He always makes himself available to his patients, we are given his personal cell phone number and he expects us to use it if we need.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
Oh, and his staff can't be more accommodating and kind.

Topic: RE: The best plastic surgeon in Ohio is....
The Canton WLS Support Group is pleased to announce that Dr. Hurwitz, the world-renowned plastic surgeon, innovator of The Total Body Lift will be the guest speaker at our support group meeting on April 21, 2010.

We would like to extend an invitation to you to attend this “FREE" informational meeting.    Meeting will be held at John Knox Church, conveniently located near I 77 and Portage Rd. exit at 5155 Eastlake St NW, just south of Portage Rd. off Frank Ave, North Canton, OH 44720.

Please contact me at [email protected] if you plan on attending as consultation and seating is limited.

Dr. Hurwitz has been ranked by his peers among the top 5 percent of physicians in the entire United States for the past eight years.

Dr. Hurwitz has been perfecting the art of plastic surgery and body contouring for over two decades. He has helped thousands of people refine their physical appearance in both subtle and dramatic ways. You may have seen him on Big Medicine, or in People Magazine.

He is considered a cornerstone of the professional plastic surgery community and is respected for his many contributions to the practice of plastic surgery. Dr. Hurwitz is sought for his mastery of such procedures as facelift, lipoaugmentation, body contouring, and reconstructive surgery.

Dr. Hurwitz is known around the globe as a guru of body contouring plastic surgery. Body contouring requires a plastic surgeon to take a holistic approach to determine what procedures will best flatter the body’s entire silhouette.

This amazing, comprehensive, and fully customized plastic surgery procedure often employs several techniques such as abdominoplasty, liposuction, breast enhancement, and arm lift. The results can be breathtaking! Dr. Hurwitz has helped so many patients remove unwanted weight by redefining the body’s contour in a way they had only dreamed of before!

The Total Body Lift, a book by Dr. Dennis Hurwitz is an introspective report that details plastic surgery as experienced by eight actual patients. The book describes Dr. Hurwitz’s signature Total Body Lift procedure in detail, both from the surgeon’s perspective and that of his patients.

For the most insightful review of this exciting procedure, attend the meeting and receive your "FREE" copy.  Don't miss out on this opportunity!
