Will you explain how to get preapproved by mediciad , now it's molina.
I have heard that it can be very hard and i really want to be healthy again.
I have heard some about you and would like to know more.
Hope to hear from you soon.
I'm not Dr. Curry, and I don't work for him, but I just thought I'd let you know what I know about Medicaid. They want to see a BMI of 50 or greater, with at least two serious comorbidities. I recently seen a statement that now you must have a problem such as the following. A broken bone or impared mobility that would improve with surgery, but that a surgeon won't operate unless significant weight is lost first. I don't know firsthand about that, but I just saw it posted within the last week or so. The appoval time for Medicaid is running anywhere from 6-8 months. Hope this helps. Best of luck. Theresa R.
Hi Theresa! You have helped me before about questions with Medicaid. I don't know if you saw my post but I think I may be approved finally after three denials...And yes it was on the broken bone in my ankle issue That finally got it for me.BMI is 49 now but in the paperwork it's 47, no high blood pressure or diabetes yet but I do have sleep apnea...It is a tenative approval as the doctor just got a list with an A by may name and not an official letter yet, they said they should get it in a week or so...If that's the case it will be such a relief.. First called to get the ball rollingfor surgery summer of 04 paperwork finally submitted July/Aug 05, so it has been a long, emotional ride...Now as long as I can get through all the pre-op testing okay I will be on my way...Thank Goodness! I thank you for all the help you have given me this past year in answering my questions...
I am trying not to get too excited in case it was a mistake...It is just the list that Medicaid sends to the doctor, not real letter yet...I keep thinking that it will be a mistake or something...The minute I get the letter I WILL post!! Thank you so much for your encouragment for the past year dealing with Medicaid..I will let you know...By the way YOU LOOK FANTASTIC! I can only hope to be half as successful as you!
