hello all and happpy easter. i lurk on here but don't usually say much. i keep in contact with jeremy and robbi and they tell me he is doing greate since he went home from the nursing home. i have been having some problems with my health recently. i had a pretty good asthma attack march 17th and was finally admitted to the hospital for 7 days on march 21st. well because of the medicine they had to put me on it caused my bp and blood sugars to go up. about a week after i got out i started having episodes where my heart rate would go to 120-130's last for 45-60 minutes. i've been bounced back and forth from the internist to the pulmonary doctor. i ended up calling the EMS last wednesday after the heart rate stayed up for about 1 1/2 hours. so after an extensive work up with everything been negative i was started on lopressor which was ordered by my lung doctor. i called my internist the next morning to make sure i was suppose to take the bp med. she had me come to her office that day. she chastised the lung doctor for putting me on a medication that asthma patienst shouldn't take because it could cause an asthma attack. i told her i felt comfortable taking the medicine if the lung doctor ordered it because he knew me better then the doctor that was on call that night. well she insisted i changed to this other med and to make this a little shorter it hasn't helped my heart rate all... she put me on cardizem and told me to take it 2 times a day and an extra if my heart rate stays up. well needless to say its staying up in the 110'a. any nurses out there have any thoughts. or any doctors. i'm at my whits end, and i'm so tired and feel lighthead when i get up and i'm just at a loss for words. HELP please and please pray for me that this gets straighten out fast. because now were are going on this after 2 1/2 weeks and i'm getting scared. thanks to all. have a happy easter our savior has risen!!!!! hallelujia!!!!! jennifer in akron

Jennifer, You are in my prayers and hope that they can find a medication that gives you relief without causing you other problems. I have been in that same situation, they give you one thing for one problem and it ends up causing problems of another kind. I am sure you are scared and I would be as well. This is the problem when you have different Docs taking care of different problems. Lets pray that God handles it and you get well fast. Hugs Laura

You are in my prayers too.. by the way has any dr ever tested you for P. O. T. S? my sister has that and your simtoms seem to be the same as hers.. the sad part about it is stress seems to stimulate it.. She had to go to the cleveland clinic to get diagnosed but she is a lot happier that they found something, she was getting vertigo so bad she couldn't even drive and sinus infections, i don't think the sinus infection was from the P. O. T. S. but it didn't help that she had to be put on medications.. anyhow. please be careful and yes i know another chief... but your cardiologist should be able to help you find out if it is..or at the least cross another thing off the list of things.. Take care and God bless you Paula
