please help me

i'm 5 months out and was just walking for exercise, but today i joined a gym. can anyone give me some suggestions on what to do and how long to do it? today i did 20 mins on treadmill speed was 4 mph incline went from 0 to 4 and back down plus spend 10 mins on the elipical (sp) also spent about an hour going from machine to machine. rich w

Rich I just wanted to say hi to a fellow Elyrian! Congratulations on your weight loss journey. I hope mine will begin soon. As for exercise I think you have to do what you can handle and increase a little as you go. Enjoy the nice weather since it is here and walk outside. Jeannette

Hi Jeannette: I had same doctor I LOVED HIM he was so sweet with the best bedside mannor. He checked in several times during my hospital stay. You made a great choice with him ! i am 2.5 weeks out and you can hardly tell i have incisions ! GOOD LUCK ! Teresa P.S. i am about 10 min from elyria so hello neighbor.

In your gym do they offer a personal trainer? You can just go for a consult for them to recommend what weights how many reps etc and a consult is pretty reasonable. I asked for a walk thru when I joined and asked questions and that got me started about 4 wks ago. I walk for 30 min 3.2 mph then work my core everyday (he he he I said core) then alternate my upper body and lower body weights. I use the machine's not free weights cause I'm not there yet. This is the first time I've done anything like this all my life. It's fun good luck!! Denise 398/379/298

I do 30 minutes on the ellitpical. 3 x a week. I was doing that 5 x a week. and was getting to muscular. I walk 5 times a week on the tread mil or out side( I walk 2 miles or 1.5 miles). I do other excercises to tone my arms and waist. I am doing really well with my excercise. If I dont excercise I feel so much quilt. So I force myself to do this. I know I will bennifit from it. WOW i can not wait for the day i have energy to do 30 min on treamill at 4 mph !!! GREAT JOB. And by the way i am in North Eaton 10 min from elyria what gym did you join? do they have personal trainers to get you started? Do you know of any support groups around here i am 2.5 weeks out and looking for a good support group Teresa
