Dr. Barbara GONE!!!!

Ok I just called Barix to make my one year appointment 04/28/06 at 9:45am. I was informed that Dr. Barbara is no longer there! I am in shock, and tears!!!! She said that she sent out letters to everyone, but I did not receive one, probably because I moved. What happened? Does anyone know where he went? I had a special gift I wanted to take to him to my one year appointment. Man this makes for a bad day!!! Hugs, Lisa

Lisa, Dr. Barbara was down sized. But the Barix cut off their own foot because no sooner did they downsize him. Dr Stelmack quit. So that leaves dr. Vig and Dr BAtes. Barbara moved out of the state but i do not know to where.

I can not believe they got rid of him, and Dr. Stelmack. I personally did not care for Dr. Vig he had to release me one when I was admitted for dehydration, did not care for his bedside manner, and dr. bates does not even do surgery, she is who they set my up with for my follow up apt. I think I am going to call the medical board and find out where dr barbara went to, just so I send his gift to him. I might be able to find a surgeon here in WV to do my follow up care. I am so heart broken about dr. Barbara. big hugs, Lisa

Lisa, I feel your pain. I feel the same about Dr. Stelmack....the man changes my life and then he moves on to somewhere else....I wish him the best of success and happiness but dang it!! I LIKED the guy and trusted him completely.....sigh....Barix just won't be the same without him..... Dr. Stelmack, you are missed!! I had wanted to take something special to Dr. Stelmack for my two year post op check but guess I'll have to find out where he went and send it to him.. Just know you aren't grieving alone, Lisa... Barix would not tell me where he went. They just said that he is no longer doing gastic bypass, only general surgery. I did however go on the ohio medical board website and found that he is still listed as actively practiceing. hopefully I will be able to track him down. I am still so upset that I am thinking about cancelling my appointment with Barix and contacting a Doctor here in WV that does the surgery to do my one year followup. I will not give up, I really want him to see what he has helped me to accomplish, and how much my life has changed, not to mention his gift. Good luck with your search. Hugs, Lisa

from what i have heard, dr stelmack left to go "home" and take care of his aging parents--i knew that could be a possibility when i had my surgery 2 years ago--i loved that man!!!! i was not aware of dr barbara being gone- maybe cuz i wasn't his patient-- lisa--you will be ok--head's up gf!!!!!
