Back Again...DR.C please read

It is Lisa Johnson, yep Back again, just this time I could not remember my user id and password, so I had to re-register. Now I have to get my pic put back on my profile. It will still be a smiling face for those *****member, but just a thinner jawline. LOL. I have really missed my OH Family. I have been through a lot since last summer. Divorce, weight loss, new job 2 times, weight loss, new man in my life, weight loss. But did I mention I am 20lbs away from goal.........I have lost over 125 lbs. The only probles thsi far is I had a bad ventrical hernia that I had to have repaired on 02/28/06, and I just found out I am a bad hypoglycemic (sp) I have to carry emergency glucan kits and give myself shots up to 3x a day (YUCK). But I am scheduled to go see a specialist soon. Has any one else who is a diabetic had this problem after surgery? Or know of anyone how did? I am now worried that I may get my drivers liscence taken away, however I do understand the risk of not only my health, but the risk of other peoples health if I pass out or have seizures while driving. I am just hoping to get it under control. I look forward to talking to everyone soon, please email me or post back....Man I have really missed you all!!!!! But the finances have been going up and down so has the internet service. Dr. C, Can the hypoglycemic be a side affect from the RNY Bypass? Big Hugs to you all, Lisa

Lisa, Hypoglycemia is a well-known side-effect of RNY. Just within the last year or so has it been really recognized and reported. I doubt it's related to your ventral hernia. Good luck, Dr. C

i have had some experiences lately where i thought i was hypoglycemic--wow- just found a great site to explain it--and i guess i need to be more careful- my hubby cannot understand this concept tho. thanx dr c
