Hi, You are from Greenville also, arent You? My family Doctor you might know....His name is Dr. Brown from the family health services....Dr Stephanie told me about this support group...my situation is, that I am not able to go down steps very good cuz of all the pain in my knees and hips from all the weight...Ive lost 43 pounds since my surgery Feb 27th...Since my highest weight, at the end of January, my grand total is now 75 pounds....My problem now is this stupid tingling that Ive had in my feet....It was like this before the surgery....Am going to talk with Dr Brown again about this, and see what can be done....He thought it might be from being diabetic, but I havent been diabetic that long, nor is my blood counts high...Since the surgery, I am off the diabeta tablet....My sister thinks i have restless leg syndrome...Anyways, I am tired of it...My feet are so sensitive, and keep me awake most nights...Thanks for writing...Take care

I was never a diabetic, but I had diabetic neuropathy in my feet and hands. They were numb and tingly all the time and throbbed from the inside out. Bumping a toe would cause excruciating pain. It took about 5 months and losing 100 pounds for me to be able to start feeling my feet normally again, and I feel so blessed that the feeling has returned. My Dr had me massage my feet daily with a good foot lotion to stimulate the blood flow to the nerves. I had been in constant pain so long that I am so greatful that I can walk again without misery. Even when I got in bed at night I had pain and found I kept moving and wiggling my toes to attempt to get the pain and tingling to go away. You might talk to your Dr about the neropathy and possibly some physical therapy type exercises like my Doc gave me.
Congrats on the awesome weight loss!!!!!!! You are well on your way to a healthier life for yourself.
Lots of Hugs

Hey it's me, Stephanie. We will get you into the group on Thursday. I know there has to be a way to get you there, I will talk to Brenda (one of the leaders), she goes to church there. I am just not familiar with all the ways to get into the church. Call me at work at the end of the week and I'll have an answer and/or directions for you. We have a psychologist coming in this month to discuss body image, self esteem, and stress. Next month we are having a review of surgical wieght loss proceedures, pros and cons of each and complications.
Call Family Health, late this week and I'll help you get to the next meeting (3rd thurs of the month at EUM)
