I am 2 1/2 yrs. post op. And I feel like I have been left out in the cold.So to Speak. My Surgeon was Mr. Moreira. He was great, but no longer fooling with gastric bypass surgeries. My PCP doesn't seem to know that much on the subjuct. I get blood work done maybe every 6 months to check my thyroid levels ? I have to ask him to check my proteins and other stuff. I am not sure how often I should have blood work done, Or what kind should be done. I feel tired all the time. Been drinking my protein. Have been a slow loser from the start. I have lost about 110 pounds. Still have a long way to go. Started at 334 on a 5'4 frame. I feel like a failure that I haven't each my goal by now. Since I am so far post op, Should I still be getting looked after by a doctor? DO I need to have blood work done more often? Or not at all? Any advice you can give me would be helpful. If I still need to be under a doctors cae, Should it be someone like you? If so I will get another referral from my PCP, And pay you a visit in your office. Thanks for your time. I think it is great that you are here for everyone on this board. Thanks again....

Peggy, I would be happy to see you in the office, or I could email you a list of what the yearly recommended blood tests are. I would highly recommend getting involved in a local support group as well. Dr. C

Hi Peggy, Listen to Dr. Curry he is the most caring doctor I have ever met; and the only doctor who takes the time to answer us Weight Loss Surgery patients each and everyone of us who asks him a question. Janet
