Those who went through UC?

Did you HAVE to go through the Information Session? I've been researching this surgery for years now, and I feel like it's not necessary for me to go to the session. Not to mention, the next session is April 20, and I'd like to get in for a consult before then.

Dear Sara V: The next interest group meeting is actually on the 18th on at the University Pointe Clinic at 7 pm. The interest groups are required because it gives you a chance to meet the surgeons and team. You can ask questions about our program. I am usually presenting and it is where you pick up the packet to start the process. We will actually begin the insurance evaluation with information provided by you if you wish. This streamlines the process and will determine all the requirements you need to meet prior to making any definitive decisions. I also discuss all the weight loss options available to you and go over the differences. We offer all procedures accepted by the ASBS laparoscopically and open as well as revisional surgery when indicated at three different sites. It helps you get to know us as a team.
