i'm 62 yrs. old

hi everyone, this is my first posting on this message board...this is all new to me. i've been reading lots of your messages and wow, have they helped me quite a bit. i am just starting the process for surgery this week at cleve. cl. i sure would like to hear from anyone who is my age or older that has had surgery. thanks.....sharon

Greetings from San Francisco. I was 64 years old when I had my lapband done. It was so easy I drove myself home from the hospital. It has been almost 8 months now and I am wearing a size 8. It was completely painless and truly the easy way out for me. Good luck to you.

Hi, I just had a lap rny on 3-17-06. Like you I was a little nervous because of my age ( 61 yrs), but everything went beautifully. Hardley no pain and healing great. Good luck to you. I know that you too will be just fine.

Hi, I'm 62 years old too (at least for a couple more months) I had roux-en-y lap July 7, 2005 by Dr. Trace Curry the best surgeon for this kind of surgery in Ohio and maybe in the US!! I had no problems with the surgery, it went very smoothly. I can't say it was a breeze as no surgery is. It was the best thing I have ever done for myself. I have lost 84 pounds. I feel so much better. The other day my blood pressure was 110/60 and I have been off medication since the surgery my cholesterol is also normal without medication. I think this was a life-saving decision for me. I also have the energy to participate in life not just be on the sidelines. Good Luck on your journey for a new life. I will be thinking about you.
