i m in toledo ohio and was wondering
The first thing you need to do is get a PCP. Tell her or him how miserable your weight is making you. Have him document your problems and ask to be tested for sleep apnea...It will be required anyway, and it is a "good" comorbidity for Medicaid to look at. Dr. Curry in Cincinnati is a medicaid
surgeon, as well as some others that can be found here on OH. Start soon--Medicaid runs approx. 6 months for approvals, so you don't need any time wasted. Also, find a psychiatrist that takes Medicaid for a psych. eval. (also required by Medicaid and most surgeons) Psych. accepting Medicaid can be hard to find, so start today calling around. Any other questions?? Just Ask, I'll help if I can.

Hi Angela!
I live near Toledo too! I know Dr White at Toledo Hospital does the RNY gastric bypass, and my surgeon in BG DR. Brian Lane also does this surgery. I don't know if you are interested in the lap band, I believe Dr Lane does that surgery also along with the duodenal switch. There are also DR Duckett and Oweis that do the lap band in Maumee. I don't know about Medicaid acceptance for any of them. You do need to find a PCP first off the bat and get a good physical to start the process rolling.
Good luck in your quest!
