rights for the obese????

Is there any information out there that tells about the rights (legal or not) that an obese person has to have surgery? I am so fighting to have surgery, luckily I am very healthy for my weight but that doesn't help me when it comes to approval with my insurance....so I want to make sure I have "rights" when communicating with my ins....Thanks and hugs to all..Kelly

Hi Kelly, I have been fighting with my insuance company since Dec.05' I talked to them yesterday and they are saying that my policy has been changed!! I've been so upset. I have holding my head up high for the past 4 months. All I can say is: keep on your insurance company and if you don't get the answer you are looking for, call back you'll get someone else and hopefully someone who knows what's going on.
