I called my insurance to see what they would pay if I decided to go out of network and stay with the Bariatric Center for surgery. They can't tell me the Usual, Reasonable and Customary Charges. I will have a 1500 dectuible and have to pay anything above the URC charges. So basically I would have to go into this blind. It could be a cost of 3000 dollars or a cost of 1500 dollars. No way of knowing. How crazy is this? I have contacted OSU and they are sending me information and I will need to get copies of all sorts of reports on what I have done. They wil than determine what needs to be redone. Could be as long as 4 more months. I could scream. Dianna

call your insurance again... Sometimes just talking to a different person helps get you an answer. Check with Barix and see if they know what it will be, actually I think they will find out for you because I believe they will want it up front. Won;t hurt to ask! Good luck... I call every couple days to ask how things are progressing. I agrere the wait when you are all ready is the worst, I just need for them to call me for preop! I've waited a week. I called Bariatric Center and talked to clinical director who was very, very helpful. Evidently Med Mutal pays them less than even medicaid. So my cost would be over $17,000. Can you imagine? I am now beginning the process with OSU. Bartrix even offered to send my file to OUS for me. Hopefully, I can expidite the process with OSU a little. Dianna
