Hello, I was wondering if you can explain something to me. I have been having alot of pain in my puch area so my doc sends me for a CT scan. I got the results and they state that I have a Isolated Small Bowel Loop in the left mid abdomen that is dialated to 4.3 cm in diamater. I am going to for a Upper GI with a small bowel follow through. What could possibly cause the transverse distention? It will be 2 years for me on March 9 that I had my surgery. I have lost 130 pounds and weigh 126. Thats all good. Just wondering about this situation and if it is life threatning if not, what needs to be done? Please send me your thought. Thanks so much! Thanks, Sasyshorts

I would be very suspicious for an internal hernia, which is easy to fix but would require on operation. Dr. C
