I am 20 months post-op and just found out I am pregnant. It came as a shock because I was booking my plastic surgery. I am done losing weight. I lost 190 lbs and now weigh 160. I am healthy. What scares me is gaining weight. I worked hard to get were I am and I don't want to be overweight again. I am having a hard time eating the amount of calories that I need too. I feel like I am eating all day long. Any tips or advice? Heather

Heather, Wow congrats on your having a baby !!!! Walking is really good. Spring is comming up. I would get into walking every day. I would jus****ch what you eat and try and not put on over 25-30 pounds. That weight is really hard to lose. The tummy tuck can wait until your little bundle of joy is here. Try and snack on healthy snacks. I know it is hard when expecting. And drink plenty of fliuds. That will help with hunger as well. Best Wishes with your pregnancy. Barb

Heather, congratulations on both your weight loss and your pregnancy. I am a registered dietitian who has had weight loss surgery and works with pregnant women. I have counseled several women who have had weight loss surgery and then have become pregnant. The main concern is that you eat enough to promote adequate weight gain of the baby. At this point, don't worry too much about your weight gain. There have been cases where the baby is small due to the mom's inability to eat enough. If you have specific questions, please feel free to email me privately. I will do everything I can to help. Chris

Heather~ First congrats!! I got pregnant at about 10 months post-op (not planned but we were happy!). When I found out I was pregnant I weighed about 175...down from 274 pre-op. I lost 13 pounds in my first trimester because I had some serious morning sickness and gained all of that back plus 5 when I gave birth to Thomas in May 2005. He is now 9 months old and I am down to 153 and holding...LOL!! I still have 25 pounds to go till I reach my personal goal and I will hit it! I really tried to eat healthy and walked as much as I could while I was pregnant. I was in so much better shape this time around compared to having my first son at 300 pounds!!! Take care and congrats!! Brandi
