Lap Band Self Pay @ OSU???

If anyone has had a lapband at OSU and self paid, I have a question. I was quoted an amount and paid prior to my surgery of February 1st. I go in for my first post-op visit on Tuesday. I've received several bills for charges, including one for almost $2100 today. It is an itemized bill and credits me for the money I paid. Has anyone else received bills after you have paid the package price? I'm really worried. I went into my retirement to pay the $22,000 and from what I've since seen, this is really high compared to others. It's obviously too late now and I'm glad I've been banded. I just feel that the quote was misrepresented and it's hard to think that I still owe so much.

I know nothing about OSU, but I know that hospitals in general have a problem with the selfpay options. Your doc should have a something written down about the amount agreed to. Next step is to call billing at OSU and explain that you were self pay and had an agreed upon price. It's a pain but I'm betting that you'll get it worked out. Cathy
