??Glucosamine/Chondroitin (sp)????

can we absorb this??? i went to the chiro last nite and found out that my 52 year old body has a birth defect! i have an extra vertabrea and it is fused--well i'll live! but; he did suggest taking glucosamin/chondr......

I don't know about absorbing it, But i understand that the glucosamine is what helps your joints and the chondroitin just increases the cost of the pills... Find some plain glucosamine in capsules (not tablets, the heat used to make them lessens the effect) And take 1000 mg a day... If we can find out if it's safe... I havn't had surg yet but I have taken it for about 6-7 years... Good luck! Blessings pam

Glucosamine and Chondoroiton Sulfate is available in liquid form. I'm not post op yet, but I can't handle the size of the pills, so I get the liquid at Sams. My best friend has degenerative disk disease and has been using it forever. I use it for knee pain. Veterinarians have known about its benefits for 20 years. It was only after the book "Arthritic Cure" came out that Chiropractors and Doctors starting singing its praises. That was about 7 years ago. She and I have both tried the Glucosamine by itself and found that it really doesn't work as well fior us. So we buy the combo liquid in huge quantities at Sam's and share the cost.
