Hello everyone. Just thought i would share. I got a call while at work today from the people who do the program at UH in Cleveland. Lady was really nice to me and but in the end had to say "John your Qual Choice insurance was capped at $10,000 for wsl as of Jan 1st so you would have to come up with anouther 10-15,000". She said if i ever get the $ or new insurance to call them. That kind of $ is something that will never happen. So i guess i will have keep trying the weight loss meds and all the other weight loss ways that havent worked. John

The cap would apply after the contractual adjustment occurs off of the total bill. My total for surgeon, hospital, anesthisiologist etc. wasn't 10K. I would check somewhere else. Don't give up that easy.

John do they cover lap band. If so there are doctors that do that for alot less than the rny. It might cost you around 2000.00 or $3000.00 But it would be well worth it. My doctors do the lap band. I think it is $13000.00 You are not that over weight. That might work great for you. There is alot of success with the lap band. It is a great surgery. Take Care Barb

Hi John, I was reading your profile and saw that you were a single dad with a child. Maybe this might help. WHen I was going through my surgery I had Insurance that covered 80 %. When I had the surgery my wife was unemployed and we have two childre. SO I talked to the hospital and found out that I was eligible for a charitable pay on a sliding scale on what I would pay on after my Insurance paid. The hospital where I had my tests covered 100 %. My surgery hospital that was OSU was 75%. I only had an out of pocket of about 1500 dollars. It is worth checking into. Good Luck, Richard
