I've have the lap-band so no malabsorption, but I find that I'm catching every bug that comes my way these days (3 since October). They always last several weeks and this one is spreading to my ears (ouch). What I was wondering if this could be caused by months of dieting and low gamma globulins? Do RNYer's have this problem or is this just a bad year for upper respiratory viruses? I guess I'm just hoping that it can be cured by a shot. I've got too much to do to be sick. I'll take suggestions from anyone to help get rid of this stuff. Cathy

Sorry you are sick Cathy, I find after rny I am not getting sick at all and I guess its because all the vitimins I take now. My DH just got over pneunonia(sp). I also had a flu shot if that means anything. I hate earaches so much. You are so right it hurts. Feel better, love,CIndy

Thanks Cindy When I worked at the hospital, I got flu shots every year. I haven't had one for the last couple of years. This episode could possibly be the flu. It seems to get worse instead of better. I take my vitamins every day. Maybe it's mental. I just hate cold weather. Thank goodness, I'll be in Hilton Head in a few weeks. Cathy
