newbie

Hi, i am a newcommer to the OH page... i have been checking out the national web site for several wks.... I am in the process of trying to get accepted at Ohio State for WLS. This is about the only place i can go with my insurance( Tricare).... My sister and I started looking into WLS at about the same time and she is MILES ahead of me and one test away form scheduling her surgery... While I am THRILLED for her, it is so frustrating for me ! i filled out my application and turned it in 3 wks ago and have not even gotten a phone call back yet. have any of you delt with Ohio States program?? Any tips or suggestions? Doseanyone know of someplace else that accepts Tricare? any and all replies would be appreciated. Hugs, .........diane

Diane, I went through OSU. If you have questions, call and talk to Shannon Suber. She was always there for me if I needed information on how things were going. Make sure you follow your insurance requirements to a T. I did and had no problems getting approved. I had Cigna. Are you going to any of the OSU support group meetings? They meet on the 1st and last Wednesday of the month. The first meeting is an informational session. The one at the end of the month is a group discussion where we sit in a circle and talk. Hey dee, not much action on our posts today.... I did look up tri care on the Insurers resource page... there are several listed who used tricar and you can see who posted them and who the doctors were... besides OSU most were in Dayton and Cinci...... but if you bust a hump and get all that pre testing done maybe going out of town would not be so bad if it is a good place and you can get in so much quicker. love pam
