Hi Everyone: Iam goint to post this queston to a few other message boards to see what kind of responses I get, because Iam really worried about this pureed phase Iam going into today. I had my surgery on the 24th of january so my staples are still in and they come out on Monday. Anyway, I want to say that Iam really nervous about going into this stage of the game. Iam not worried about how the new food will effect me but rather Iam worried that when I start on any new foods that I will fall back into my old eating patterns and worried that the food will not be enough. Although I have gotten to know my tool and how it responds to the liquids I have been on so far, I worry that my new food additions will trigger new cravings and wanting to eat more. So far I have adjusted very well to everything. I did get sick one time from drinking my protein drink to fast. I don't know if my question makes any sense at all, but Iam really really nervous. I have been on popsicles, water, SF pudding, SF jello, broth, and some pureed chunky vege soup with 1 tbsp on cheddar cheese in it for added protein. Oh yes, and my protein drinks, and my SF Carnation instant breakfast, and my high protein milk. I know I can't stay on these food for the the rest of my life but I am sick of them and know that I must move on. Has anyone ever had these issues? Or am I just crazy. What do all of you advise to start out with. Thanks again Denise Heisler

Beleive me once your on solid foods everything falls into place. You will know your limits. I really didnt feel hunger pains until the 3rd month. I did have head hunger at a week out stomach growling and all.. Just eat protein first this feels up your pouch keeps you full for 3-5 hours. You wont want to eat. My main problem is at night alte at night when I am alone. ( That use to be my big time Eating session )I am learning to maintain that with healthy protein choices. You will be fine. The first month is hard. and all kinds of thoughts run thru your head. ( Like I cant do this ) ( will I be the one to fail) It will all come together. You have All normal Thoughts. You have failed at all other diets. and you are afraid of failing at this. You wont fail. Just do what the dr wants. And listen to you stomach. It really tells you alot of what you need to know. Once you feel full stop. Dont push those extra bites. Take Care Barb

Hi Denise, we have all had these feelings. Trust me, you will do fine because you have to. It really falls off literally. You won't be able to eat alot for the first 18 months. Then when 18 months comes you then have to be very careful. I am having a hard time now because I have gained 5 lbs and I can't get it off. It doesn't sound like alot but after all this time I can feel it in my clothes lol. I never knew what all the thin people meant when they could tell with an extre 5 lbs. I could gain 30 lbs and never feel it. My stretch pants just kept on stretching lol. Nothing will trigger anything at all. You won't want to eat once you know your pouch. You are going to do just fine because you have to, there is no choice I don't think. I am 19 months out and I am worried now. Enjoy this honeymoon while you can,it's so much fun and before you know it 100 lbs will just be gone. Lots of love and good luck. You are having all the same feelings we all have had . Love,Cindy

Denise, I had my surgery on Jan 9th. I have had a heck of a time with the pureed food stage. It is very hard to get the protein in because you don't want to eat. I am also having a diffucult time getting in the liquids, some days it is all I can do to get 12 oz down. And I am not losing like I think I should. So then my feeling is " Is this going to work for me?" " Maybe I will be the only one it won't work for" I have an appointment Feb 8 with my doctor, know I am afraid he is going to yell at me because I should have lost more. I guess everything will turn out alright, I sure hope so. Betty

Betty, don't worry about anything it all comes but does take time. Take in what you can for the first couple of months. It will work for you I pomise. We all have these feelings and finally it all comes together. You really can't seem to get it in the beginning. I did alot of popsycles in the first 6 months. SF of corse. Each one(half) is a fluid and I could eat those every few hours. Its easier then drinking at this point.Good luck and we are always here for you, Love,Cindy
