Kim i had my done at uhhs of cleveland. best program in the area. when i was thinking about surgery i saw an ad for st. vincents free info to call and go to when i called them they would not even let me go to a FREE class to find out about surgery because of my insurance. What does insurance have to do with a free class for info about surgery? So i saw one for UH and called them. They welcomed me to the class and sent me out all the info about the program. I had Dr Stellito at uh. They have a great progam and follow up with you. My insurance change and it paid for the surgery. St. Vincents loss My gain. LOL. E-mail me with any questions. Pattie

Hi Pattie: Just wanted to say that when I was researching WLS my first call was to SV. I was turned off in the first minute of the conversation. The woman acted like she was doing me a big favor by talking to me and she also acted like she had the most boring job in the world. I NEVER CALLED THEM BACK AGAIN. Iam learning that this journey is more then being on a conveyer belt for this surgery and that we are all human beings and if we are treated with respect and consideration Pre Op and Post Op our adherence to all rules are more likely and our success with be more likely. When I was researching my surgery I read many good things about Dr. Stellato and how he is so compassionate with the obese. I was going to go threw them if I had not been accepted at my center. God Bless you and congrats on all of your successes. Congradulaltions also on being able to hang on to your money and not having to pay for that meeting at SV, that totally infuriates me when it becomes a money issue. HI: My name is Denise and I am out of Open RNY two weeks on Tuesday. I live in the greater cleveland Area, Parma. I don't know if you have ever heard of it or not. I did not have my surgery at St Vincents, or Cleveland Clinic. Where I live there is Parma Community General Hospital and how I discovered my surgery center was threw an article that I had read in our local paper about a 19 yr old who had his surgery threw Dr. Eyeman. His story was so inspiring and hopeful. I called ST. Vincents during my research and they did not sound like I wanted to go threw them. I called Barix Clinic and a few others. I asked if they took medicare and all said NO. I was getting discouraged then I remembered the article I read about the 19 yr old. So I called Northern Ohio Bariatrics and asked if they accepted medicare, they gladly said yes. So from that point on I was intensely happy. The nutritionist and the Dr. are all on the same staff and the lady who deals with the paper work is outstanding. They mailed me a questioniaire about my past dieting attempts and they gave me a list of all the things that I would need to do before my first appointment. It was alll up hill from there. I think the waiting period from the time I completed my six month nutritionists appointment was 2 or 3 months. I did not feel like I was on a huge list of people having this surgery, the center is wonderful.. If you would like more info from me on Dr. Eyeman and his staff you can email me.
